8(a) STARS II GWAC
The GSA 8(a) STARS (Streamlined Technology Acquisition Resources for Services) II Contract Vehicle allows federal agencies to fulfill their IT services and IT services-based solutions requirements and at the same time meet or exceed socioeconomic goals through the utilization of small businesses which are 8(a) certified.
8(a) STARS II’s benefits to federal clients include:
- Short procurement lead time
- Pre competed and easy-to-use contracts
- Directed orders up to $4 million
- 8(a) socio-economic credit
- Limited protestability in accordance with NDAA 2008
- Availability of training and support from the 8(a) STARS II GWAC acquisition team
- Low user fee (0.75 percent) built into contractors’ ceiling prices
- 8(a) credit can be transferred back to client agency via Federal Procurement Data System (FPDS)
- The Small Business GWAC Center provides Information Technology (IT) specialty contract administration
